Carillon is a leading Hertfordshire chamber choir based in St Albans consisting of experienced and accomplished singers from across Hertfordshire. We work with a range of conductors and have built up a large repertoire of sacred and secular music of all periods from early to modern.
I believe this is what makes it so special – a choir that chooses its conductors rather than conductors choosing their singers by audition! A very rare species indeed.
I have enjoyed the honour of being Carillon’s President for a number of years and I very much enjoy attending the concerts when I can (or at the least a final rehearsal) and look forward to being more around this season now that I have more time on my hands…
It is a particular pleasure for me when I am invited to appear as a soloist with Carillon as I was in 2015 in two concerts celebrating the work of locally-based composer Tim Blinko.
